back to nature

The oil painting on paper are mostly done in intimate sheet format of the same size with some complex figurative scene...Now dancing frogs and squatting turtles are predominant. Both creatures, especially the turtle have been the artist's pet in her childhood days. Both bear the century old connotations in Chinese culture generally. As a symbol for longevity, the turtle is admired for its strength and endurance. The frog is beloved for its arrogant uglyness combined with a frantic liveliness of movement. Both creatures adjust to different living environment in water and on land.
